Boys Youth Clinic (grades 3-6)

Description:  Conducted by J.R. Gaudet (Binghamton HS, Cortland State, and Binghamton University) who will be assisted by a number of high school varsity players, this clinic will focus on introducing the basic lacrosse fundamentals in a series of fast paced demos, drills, and small sided game activity including passing and catching, groundballs, shooting technique, stick protection, proper checking techniques, dodging, cutting, off ball movement and basic offensive concepts (draw and dump, etc.) and close with some stick tricks.

Date and time:  Sunday, February 21st, Noon to 2PM

Cost: $25 per player

Goalkeeping Clinic - Boys and Girls Combined (players and coaches)

Note - clinic is underway however we will accept new players on a pro-rated fee basis.  Please send e-mail to groggerlax@stny.rr.com for registration instructions if you are interested in joining for the last three sessions.

Description: This  6 hour goalkeeping clinic for modified and above players and all coaches will be conducted over four one and a half hour sessions by former Division I goalie, Nick Donatelli.  Nick played his college lacrosse at Syracuse University and was a member of two national championship teams.  Clinic will combine both lecture and field play for the goalies (observation for coaches).  Click here for a detailed description of the information to be covered in each session.

Dates and times: Jan 31st, Feb 14th, Feb 21st, Feb 28th; All sessions will be 1:30 to 3:00PM

Cost: Players: $75; Coaches $35  (the clinic has a maximum of 15 players; no limit for coaches)

Girls Clinics

Stick Skills and Shooting/Free Position Clinic (players and coaches)

Description: Conducted by Stephanie Allen, Binghamton University Assistant Women's Lacrosse coach and BC Lacrosse Girls Travel Club director, this clinic is appropriate for modified players and above and will cover stick skills, stick protection, power shots, sidearm shooting, use of shooting lanes and angles, shot placement, and free position shot techniques.

Date and time: Sunday Feb 7th, Noon to 1:30PM

Cost: Players: $30; Coaches: $20 (maximum of 20 players; no limit for coaches)

Draw Control and Transition (players and coaches)

Description:  Conducted by Stephanie Allen, Binghamton University Assistant Women's Lacrosse coach and BC Lacrosse Girls Travel Club director, this clinic will cover fundamentals and a series of options and explanations on how to set up for taking the center draw.  Off-ball movement and strategy on draw controls will also be incorporated.  The clinic will also explore effective use of the field in transition play, especially between the 30’s.  Probably most appropriate for JV and Varsity level but Modified players may also benefit.

College Recruiting Clinic (for players, parents, and coaches) - depending on number of registrations, the location for this clinic may be changed

Description:  The rapid growth of collegiate women's lacrosse is creating tremendous opportunities for girls to continue to play in college, enhance their college experience, and possibly receive both athletic and academic scholarships.  Conducted by Stephanie Allen, Binghamton University Assistant Women's Lacrosse coach and BC Lacrosse Girls Travel Club director, this clinic will cover the do's and don'ts of the college recruiting process and also share the benefits of playing at each level.  Stephanie will share her thoughts on what college coaches are looking for in a player as well the recruiting process, timetable, what to expect from unofficial visits and official visits, and some common mistakes that recruits make.  Appropriate for any high school players and their parents who may be interested in playing in college and is highly recommended for current juniors and sophomores.  It is also appropriate for high school coaches who would like to be able to assist their players to play at the next level.
